New Year's plans or lack thereof...

Hello!!!!!

So here I am, running simulations... writing up some reports. Fun stuff!!! So my plan to go to Chicago for New Year's Eve did not work out :( But on the brigth side I did not loose my SW award. Yesterday I went to best buy and I found both seasons of Magic Knight Rayearth for only 40 dollars!!!! YAY!!! So I guess you now have and idea what I will be doing this weekend :D Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

Lamentablemente mis planes para ir a Chicago se fueron al tacho ;) aunque al menos me devolvieron el pasaje, asi que no hay nada de que arrepentirse. Por otro lado aca estamos trabajando como siempre (corriendo simulaciones) y preparandome para otro fin de semana largo. Ayer fui de compras y consegui las dos temporadas de Magic Knight Rayearth por solo 40 dolares :D Asi que ya se pueden imaginar que voy a estar haciendo este fin de semana... Remembering Kero-chan

Hello...

I have some bad news, our Kero-chan died a week back :( Wasn't he super cute? He was a great company, partucularly for my mom who took care of him the past years.

Kerito murio la semana pasada, se lo va a extrañar mucho :( Va a ser raro voler a la casa y que no este durmiendo en mi cama.

 

La Fiesta del Pavo

Hola!!!!!!

So last weekend was the Turkey party at Frank's place :) Lots of really good food... 3 turkeys total, 1 deep fried, one smoked and the third one oven roasted. Frank did and awesome job cooking almost everything (Kristen and I helped) for 30 people. So here a few pictures.

El fin de semana pasado fue la Fiesta del Pavo en la casa de Frank (él no es el pavo... ) . Hubo un monton de comida, 3 pavos en total, uno frito (ver la foto abajo), otro ahumado y un tercero al horno. Frank se paso, cocino casi todo (Kristen y yo ayudamos un poco) para 30 personas!!!!! Aca algunas fotos. La primera es Frank sumergiendo el pavo en el aceite :D

This Thanksgiving I went to Chicago to meet some old friends and some new ones :) Here I am with Zoe, isn't she beautiful???!!! She's 6 months old and I couldn't wait to see her in person.

Esta Acción de Gracias me fui a Chicago a encontrarme con nuevos y viejos amigos ;) Aca estoy con Zoe, no es una divinura??? Ya tiene 6 meses y no veia la hora de conocerla en persona.

Las callecitas de Chicago tienen ese "no se que". Esta foto es en el barrio donde nos quedamos con Massiel, una parte de Chicago que nunca habia visto ya que siempre estuve por el centro. Nos toco un clima buenisimo, de no creer en esta epoca del año.

Playa!!!!!! (sort of...)

Hello...

So this weekend I decided I had to do something "different", so I drove to Hampton Beach and the up north pass Rye Beach, following the 1-A, which goes next to the coast... The day was cloudy and kinda cold, but I enjoyed the view, the ocean sound and the sea wind :)

Este fin de semana decid que tenia que hacer algo diferente, asi que agarre el auto y me fui a la costa. Viaje desde Hampton Beach hacia el norte, pasando Rye Beach... la ruta que tome es tipo costanera, asi que la vista es siempre más que linda. El día no acompaño, pero igual disfrute de la vista, el ruido del mar y el olorcito del viento cuando sopla desde el mar :)

Hola!!!!!

Confirmado, estoy saliendo de USA el 12 de enero, llegando a Argentina el 13 a las 730 de la mañana (más o menos). En tanto estoy de a poco organizando los papeles por aca... Hoy ya cancele una de mis tarjetas de credito, asi que preparando la retirada... es raro.

Un domingo espantoso, esta lloviendo y oscuro afuera, asi que me voy a dedicar a terminar el paper que hace rato ando dando vueltas... Veremos que onda.

I got my new ticket, I'm leaving the States January 12th, arriving to Argentina early morning on the 13th... Weird. In the meantime I'm still traying to arrange my stuff arpund here... I have just cancel my Capital One credit card :( Feel so sad!!!! They were the only ones who would give me credit back when I first arrive...

Anyways, the weather here is gloomy, so I guess I'll work on my paper :) see ya!!!

Halloween (part 1)

So like the past three years I went to the Halloween party in Baltimore. This time was at Frank and Kristen's new place :) I stayed at their place and I have and awesome time... Next time it's the Turkey Party!!!!! Here a pic with my costume... This time I actually dressed up a bit.

Como en los ultimos tres años tuve la Fiesta de Halloween en Baltimore. Esta vuelta fue en la casa de Frank y Kristen, yo me quede ahi el finde y la pase de 10 :) Los chicos son los perfectos anfitriones... la proxima vuelta es la Fiesta del Pavo ;) Aca la foto con mi disfraz :)

Heroes ans simulations

Hello all...

Just a quick post while the simulation (at least one) is done ;) I have not much to say actually, I have been working, watching TV, went to the Gym once (!!!)... And I got completely hooked into Heros, a new show on NBC. It is SO good, although you have to be a geek to REALLY enjoy it :) but really cool stuff.

Besides this I have been procastinating regarding the last paper I got accepted, I have to force myself to wpork on that again. And of course try to get my phD research back in track again. The good news... I'm going back January 12th!!!!!!

Un post rapidito mientras espero que terminen unas simulaciones... La verdad es que no tengo muchas novedades, me la paso del trabajo al hotel, en donde miro tele y webeo, aunque ayer finalmente fui al Gym!!!! jejeje. Hay una serie nueva aca, se llama Heroes y esta buenisima!!!! Tiene muchos chistes internos para geeks como uno ;) Me encanto!!!!! Lo bueno es que los capitulos estan online, asi que voy a poder seguirla cuando vaya a Argentina.... A proposito, ya esta confirmado que para el 12 de Enero estoy de vuelta!!!!!!!! Aun me queda cambiar el pasaje, pero eso lo hare mas adelante (no tengo acentos en esta maquina). En fin... sigo aun dando vueltas con el ultimo trabajo que me aceptaron para publicar y aun no he tocado nada del phD...

The Prestige

Hola!!!! Hello!!!!

So today I went to the movies to see The Prestige, with the absolute fabulous and perfect Hugh Jackman ;) It's a really good movie, I really liked it. I went with Jon, one of the guys I'm working with... He's super nice although I think I scared him with my geekness :D

Hoy fui al cine a ver The Prestige (ni idea como la van a traducir en Argentina), con el bombonazo de Hugh Jackman... La peli esta muy buena y la recomiendo ;) Fui con uno de los pibes de la oficina, se llama Jon y es muy buena onda, aunque creo que lo asuste con mi geekness jejeje. Tengo que dejar de hablar sobre manga, anime, etc etc...

First day at work

Hello All...

So today was my first day at work here in Manchester. Everyone is super nice so far and I was able to finish almost all the "paperwork" today... I would have wanted to be more productive but I have an awful cold :( I spend most day sneezing and feeling like hell. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Hoy fue mi primer dia en el trabajo en Manchester. Todos han sido super macanudos y voy a estar trabajando con otras tres personas en un chip que esta más que interesante. Hoy casi que termine con todas las cuestiones logisticas excepto por el mail. Me hubiera gustado ser más productiva, pero tengo un resfrio de la ostia :( Supongo que el cambio al invierno más el viajecito en avion surtieron efecto. Espero sentirme mejor mañana :)
