Hi... FINALLY!!!! The last post of that batch I uploaded 2 weeks ago in a effort to post from anywhere (meaning work when I had a spare time)... It tuned out to be too much.. But now I'm done util I upload the next batch hahaha. Ok, these are from Belgrano R, some 30 blocks or more from my place... Just a nice upscale old fashion neighborhood... The kind i would never will be able to afford.. Unless I marry a rich guy :P yeah... not going to happen. And check this out!!! New kinda profile self-portrait hahaha.

POR FIN!!!!! hace más de dos semanas subi un monton de fotos para poder ir generando los post desde cualquier lado (lease el trabajo en un tiempo muerto) pero la verdad es que termino siendo más de lo que pensaba jajaja Ahora tengo que subir una par más. estas son de belgrano R... MUY concheto che!!! la verdad es que algunas de las casas (sobre todo las antiguas) son una joyita. El tipo de casa que nunca voy a tener :P Y otra auto foto :) cada vez más creativa, no?

Barrancas de Belgrano

So this pics where taken at the Barrancas de Belgrano Park/square... It's 8 blocks from my place and just beautiful.

Barrancas de Belgrano, a solo 8 cuadras de casa... mi paseo favorito... Paso caminando por ahi hasta llegar a la Iglesia redonda en cabildo y Juramento :) Donde esta la Feria.

En la glorieta en el verano ponen musica y se arma la milonga... tendria que pasar más de noche una de estas vueltas. So here is where on summer nights they play tango and people dance... I have never been there, just passed by when they are starting, maybe I need to stop by later one day.

Going to La Plata

Hello, Let's see if i can finish with these load of pics... I still have a ton more too come and there are not more just because the weather have been awful lately... Today is actually March 1st... So.. where I was??? After my bro left really early in the morning I clean the apartment to get rid of his filth (kidding) and then I went to La Plata... This pictures are taken from the bus and it's Retiro, on a Sunday around noon, which is not a busy time, otherwise that whole area is craziness.

The building is basically a train station, it was done by the English and the buildings are just gorgeous...

Fotos desde el colectivo a La Plata. la estacion retiro se ve casi desierta un domingo al mediodia :) Y los edificios lucen más sin la locura de gente, colectivos y taxis. A proposito, hoy es 1 de marzo y yo sigo atrasada con los post... Aun falta unos de las semanas pasadas, casi que menos mal que se la ha pasado lloviendo asi al menos no se me acumulan más!!!!

So these two bridges are kinda famous, they go above the Riachuelo, one of the Capital Federal limits... Creo que los puentes son los que estan sobre el Riachuelo, pero puedo estar equivocada...

One more before running to the gym!!!!! :D My bro was here in January and the last week he stayed at my place in Buenos Aires. We did not see much of each other because I was working and he was meeting friends, but still it was nice to have him around. the lat day of his stay we visited my cousin and family :)

Todavia unos minutos antes de ir al Gym... Andrés estuvo por aca en nereo y se quedo unos dias en Bs As antes de volver a Europa :) la pasamos lindo aunque los dias de semana apenas si nos cruzabamos. El dia antes que se fuera fuimos a visitar a mi primo :)

Mi barrio

Hi!!! Ok, today is Feb. 25th.. and I'm still trying to catch up with my blog :( I got from work like an hour ago and I'm leaving to the gym in 20 minutes, so i guess I'll be quick. Thse are just a few pictures of my neighborhood. The following pic is one of the reasons I love it... so is the last picture :D.

En un rato tengo que volar al gimnasio, asi que mas vale que me apure.. algunas fotos del barrio. Esta y la última dan una idea por que me encanta mi barrio, aunque para encontrar las casas lindas hay que caminar unas cuadritas, pero los árboles estan a la vuelta de la esquina!!!!!

Here is were I do my groceries, conveniently located around the corner from my building :) Donde hago las compras, a la vuelta de casa :).

This has been for a few months in the corner of my block... I found it too funny.. it translates to something like "he got tired of fight on the justice side, so he became a lawyer..." :D remind me of the Space Ghost Coast to Coast :)

On the other side... around the corner too... isn't it beautiful??? El Boulevard Olleros... Precioso :D

Plaza de Mayo

So from Puerto Madero a few more blocks and I was in Plaza de Mayo. This would be the Nation's Civic Center... The Mall equivalent... Kinda :) Anyways, La casa Rosada (Pink House), they say that the color comes from mixing the colors of two politics fractions back in the day (white and red), like in the US you mixed the blue and red and paint the white house that color... The purple house!!!! AWESOME... the other version says that back in the day they mixed the "paint" with cow blood so it will repelled humidity... I believe the cow blood theory.

La Casa Rosada, terminaron de arreglarla y ahora al menos tiene toda el mismo color, y sacaron el fucsia violento de la epoca del Turco. Me puse a averiguar de donde viene el color rosa.. algunos dicen que es de mesclar los colores de los federales y unitarios (rojo y blanco) . otra teoria dice que es de mezcalr la cal con sangre de vaca para que fuera más permeable a la humedad. A mi me pinta lo de la sangre de vaca.. es mas bizarra.

El cabildo o lo que queda de él... parece increible que hayan tirado abajo casi todo el edificio, pero como dijo un anigo.. "pero si no por donde iba a pasar Diagonal Norte" jajajaja

So this is what is left of the Cabildo, the civic center during colonial times and at the beginning of the independence. It was wider but it was partially demolish to add streets :S Yeah, crazy stuff.

Puerto Madero II

Hi.. So more pics from Puerto Madero... This I believe is La Fragata Sarmiento, I think you can go in, but I did not have the time, besides as you can see I was on the other side of the dock. BTW, I uploaded the pics on one day and then i have been publishing little by little, although the entries all show the same date... today is actually Feb. 24th.

Creo que es la Fragata sarmiento, ya alguien me corregira si al menos hay alguien que aun ve el blog ;) jejeje AAAHH Antes que me olvide, yo subi las fotos de estas entradas todas el mismo dia y las estoy publicando de a poco, por eso es que quedaron todas con las mismas fechas... pero hoy es 24 de febrero :)

Ok, this picture is just... a FREAKING Hooters!!!! In Puerto Madero!!!! I'm dieing inside... Seriously.

A ver... No se cuantos tienen idea de lo que es la cadena Hooters... basicamente un lugar que venden comida yanqui tirando a grasa pero que tiene camareras con lolas grandes y que atienden en shortcitos y remeras ajustadas :S Finoli finoli!!!! En fin, y ahi esta en Puerto Madero y lo mejor es que se lo veia lleno!!!!! Sin palabras.

Puerto Madero I

Hi... Just a quick one :P So after going around San Telmo I just crossed an Avenue, walk two more blocks and there I was in Puerto Madero... Kinda like the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. They basically took all the old warehouses and make them into offices and now they are even building hotels and stuff like that... It used to be the Old Port, and there are many docks. So this pic is me at one of the bridges that go from one side to the other....

You can see all the constructions going on on the other side!!!! Just crazy, last time I was there (10 years ago) there was nothing there...

Ok, medio cortito... segui caminando y al toque de San Telmo se llega a Puerto Madero... es increible lo que ha crecido la zona desde la ultima ves que anduve por ahi hace ya como 10 anios. Y como veran las auto fotos son cada vez mas creativas :) jejeje. Esta es la psicodelica O psicotica como dijo un compa de trabajo :P (marche bolufrase!!!!!!)

Finally some of the old Puerto Madero that is still there... everything else seems to have been sanitized and made nicer :S

San Telmo II

Hola de nuevo :)

Mas fotos de San Telmo... En este caso son todas de la Parroquia de san telmo, el edificio por fuera es realmente muy lindo, aunque por dentro esta un poco caido... Habia un museo, pero el dia estaba tan lindo que decidi seguir caminando :) Al final una autofoto. ya van a ver lo creativa que me estoy poniendo con las autofotos jejeje. Y si, estoy super atrasada con las fotos en el blog, pero ya de a poco me pondre al dia.

estoy en el trabajo ahora, tomando un descansito antes de empzar a correr una simulacion que que a tardar un buen tiempo, la falta de acentos se debe a que en Linux no me los reconoce :P Encontramos otro problemita en el chip, pero parece que vamos a poder zafarla...

More pictures from San Telmo, in this case the church. It's a really nice building, quite old too. Inside it's not too nice, so I did not bother to take pics, anyways, sometimes I find it unrespectful if there is too many people around... Again a self-portrait, you are going to get tired of these since everytime I go for a walk I go alone :P It was a gorgeous day and a walk a ton, but that will be on the next entries.

I'm at work now, taking a break before running a corners sims :) After that I'm going home, we found a tiny problem with the chip, but apparently it's fixable (cross your fingers). I'll try to start posting more often since I'm falling behind... This weekend seems it will be awful weather wise, so I might take some time for this.

San Telmo

Ok, So while I take a break from work (I have been inside the lab the past 2/3 hours) I decided to keep the blog going :) So as part of my therapy I have started to go out on weekends... Since I do not have the time or money to go to far I have decided to go around Buenos Aires as a tourist, which is not to far away from reality since I did not grow up in this city... The first weekend I went to San Telmo, Puerto Madero and Plaza de Mayo. Here we start the circuit in San telmo :D

Tomando un descansito en el trabajo mientras meriendo y aprovechando para actualizar aunque sea un poco el blog... Los ultimos fines de semana he intentado salir un poco mas para no quedar encerrada en la cueva que es mi departamento. Como obviamente no me da el tiempo para salidas exoticas estoy recorriendo Buenos Aires como una turista y sacando fotos a mas no poder. El primer finde fui a San Telmo, Puerto Madero y Plaza de Mayo. Aca empieza el circuito :)

Ok, San Telmo has this weird combination of art, touristic thingie and decrepit... Sometimes is bizarre, sometimes nice...Anyways, I liked this wall.

San Telmo esta pensado para el turista, medio artista/bohemio, medio bizarro por momentos.

And of course tango everywhere, orchestas playing in the street and people dancing... that was cool. Tango en todo momento, incluso orquestas completas tocando en la calle y el turista que baila tambien.

Originally San Telmos was famous for its antiques shops, now there is a lot more, but some remain... Antiguedades :)

And this is my reflexion, I guess the problem about going by myself is that I have to be creative to get my picture :) Do not trust anyone to take a pic for me. Mi reflejo y como ser crativa para sacarse fotos a uno mismo cuando anda paseando solo :) jejeje
