Final Abierto Argentino de Polo 2009

Empezando en español esta vez :) Estas son las fotos de la Final entre La Dolfina y Ellerstina. Conseguimos asientos en la primera fila y el día acompaño porque no hizo mucho calor (te podes cocinar en ese lugar). Lo mejor de estar en la primera fila es que tenes la vista abierta y cada tanto venia un vientito fresquito :)

El partido fue emocionante y terminó con gol de oro. Ganó La Dolfina y cuando el partido termino la gente saltaba a la cancha, muy loco! Los caballos son definitivamente hermosos.

These are the Finals pictures. The match was between La Dolfina and Ellerstina, both teams have perfect handicap. It was a gorgeous day and we were seated on the first row. It was great because you have ten an open view and now and then the breeze would help to tolerate the sun. It was an exciting match and finish with a "gold" goal. When the game was over people were jumping into the field. Crazy! And the horses are so beautiful!

Mi primo y señora vinieron desde Pigüe para ver el partido :) ël es el que sabe más de Polo Y caballos, asi que teniamos a quien preguntar. My cousin and his wife came from Pigüe to watch the game. He knows about horses and Polo so we did have someone to ask to this time :)

Adolfo Cambiasso. People says he's the best player in the world. Los que saben dicen que es el mejor jugador del mundo.

Abierto Argentino De Polo 2009: Ellerstina vs. Pilará

Hello!!! And sorry for the long wait you faithful 2 or 3 readers :) So here the pics of my first ever Polo match :) It was the weekend before the finals and the match was going to decide one of the teams to go to the Finals. The match was Ellerstina (black) and Pilará (white). It was fun to watch although I understood only like half of what was going on. They run so fast is incredible...

Hola!!! Hace rato que no posteo. Últimamente me parece que todos los post los comienzo así :) Bueno, aqui unas fotos de mi primer partido de Polo. Era el partido que decidia uno de los finalistas. Ellerstina (negro) vs Pilará (blanco). Ver el partido es bien emocionante, los caballos van a una velocidad increible! Lástima que entendía solo la mitad de lo que pasaba :)

Papá vino para ver la Final y de paso quedarse una semanita paseando en Buenos Aires :) A este partido fuimos para ver como eran los asientos más populares de Dorrego Central, ya que los del otro lado de la cancha son MUY caros. Resulto que estos asientos son muy lindos así que en la final fuimos a Dorrego central también.

My dad came to see the Finals and he stay the whole week. It's always great to have him visiting. This match was a test for the seats... here we are seating in Dorrego Central which is the expensive of the not so expensive tickets. It turned out that the places are really nice so we decided to go there for the finals instead of the REALLY expensive seats on the other side of the court.

Más caballos de cerca... No se puede creer como no se pegan algun tacazo. More horses :) Sometimes is unbelievable how they don't heat each other with the "sticks" I'm sure there is a proper name for it, too lasy to look it up.

Centro Cultural Recoleta

Hola!!!

Siguiendo con la visita de papá en Buenos Aires. Esta vuelta fuimos al Cementerio de la Recoleta pero a papá no le gusto mucho asi que terminamos recorriendo el Centro Cultural que esta al lado. Habia una exposición de arquitectura que estaba interesante, pero creo que el edificio de por si esta bueno. Tiene un par de patios en donde pudimos tomar sol o simplemente disfrutar del silencio :)

En la primera foto papá en uno de los patios, la segunda es de un pintor trabajando, despues la terraza y por último yo en la terraza.

So last time my Dad was here we went to la Recoleta. He did not like the cementery as much as I do so we just stayed there for 15 minutes and tehn we moved on to the Cultural Center that is next to the cementery. There was an Architecture exposition which was interesting but I think the best is the building itself, at least this time around.

In the first pic my Dad in one of the patios. It's so quiet there!!! Then we went to the "rooftop" (third picture) , it was a great day and this guy was painting (second picture). by the time we got home we were exhausted.

El Palacio de Aguas

I just love this building. The funny thing is that the building is a shell for some water tanks or something like that. How crazy is that? They sure did things differently in the past.
Este edificio me encanta. lo más loco es que es solo la caparazón para unos tanques de purificación de agua o algo por el estilo. Argentina año verde.

Tribunales

Hola!!!
Un poco de turismo en Buenos Aires de nuevo ahora que los días están lindos de nuevo :) Esta vuelta sali con papá que estuvo de visita el finde largo en Octubre. Caminamos un montón ese día y el clima acompaño. Acá fotos de Tribunales y una mia completa para que vean que no soy solo una cabeza jejeje.

Hey :) So i'm back to walk the city. The days Are getting much longer and nicer :) These pictures where taken during my Dad visit last October. This is Tribunales, where teh Supreme Court is (second picture). And also a pic of me where you can see I'm not just a head :)

En Bahia

Visite Bahia hace poco más de un mes. Tenia que renovar mi registro de conducir y aproveche a visitar a la flia y algunos amigos. Mis visitas a Bahia tienen un ritmo tranquilo últimamente. Volvi a ir a Bahia la semana pasada porque falleció mi abuela. No creo que vuelva a Bahia por un buen tiempo ahora.

Esta foto es de la visita anterior, no hice a tiempo a ver a casi nadie, pero una tarde linda nos fuimos con Ana a visitar a Susi y tomar un poco de sol. En la foto Susi, yo, Ana y Bauti. Bauti sigue siendo un solcito.

So I went to Bahia last week because my grandma passed away. She was 91 years old and I think she was tired of living. She had a good death, but I do miss her. Kinda hard to realize that I will not get another letter, text message or phone call. She was funny, with an acid humor.

The previous time I went to Bahia was like a month ago, I visited her and also renewed my driver license. I did not have much time to visit my friends, but one afternoon we went with Ana to visit Susi. In the picture Susi, me, Ana and Bauti.

Bendita Erato Setiembre

Una de las cosas que he intentado desde que llegue a Buenos Aires es escaparme un poco del mundo ingenieril. es mi trabajo y me encanta, pero necesito algo más. Asi fue que empece el taller Literario y despues el Metodo DeRose. Y bueno, de a poco se abren nuevas posibilidades y eventos :) Aqui las fotos de la Bendita Erato de Setiembre, un ciclo de poesía que organizan Analia, Kari y Laura.

Como el ciclo tiene mucho éxito ya se mudaron a un lugar más grande, pero aún no he podido ir ahi. Aca algunas fotos del evento que fue excelente. Un ambiente cálido, poesía, gente buena onda... que más pedir?

So I have been trying to do things that are far away from engineering :) Don't get me wrong, i love engineering and I can not picture myself doing something else, but at the same time I need to breath :) So I decided to pursue my writing (something I always liked to do) and then I met great people. Like Analia, Kari and Laura who are the organizers of a series of poetry reading event. This one was in September. It just a great experience to sit there and listen to such talented writers.

La Viruta I

Creo que lo mejor de este post es que ya hubo una Viruta II :) Y esperemos que haya muchas más salidas con las chicas del Taller. En la primera foto estoy con Loli, que resulta que vive a unas 8 cuadras de casa, lo cual en Buenos Aires es como encontrar el Santo Grial. Asi que ahi estamos viendo cuando podemos empezar a caminar juntas, aunque a mi con el laburo últimamente se me complica un toque. Pero bueno, los findes siempre algo se puede hacer tambien. En la última foto estamos Analia, Loli, Kari y yo.

La pasamos muy lindo esa noche, volvi a aprender los pasos basicos del tango y baile bastante :) La última vuelta que fuimos me dedique más a chusmear y no baile, pero para eso la tercera vuelta, no?

So I think the best thing about this post is that there has been already a Viruta II :) We wnet two weeks ago again with the girls from the Creative writing workshop. Once again we had a great time.

The first time (the one in this pics) I re-learned my tango steps and I even danced. It was fun. The second time I just stayed at the table talking with Analia. I was too tired that day. Anyways, let's hope for a third time now. On the first pic me and Loli. Loli lives close to my place so it's great to have a friend close by. On the last picture: Analia, Loli, Kari and me.

Método DeRose

Hola :)

De a poco poniendome al día con los post. Hacia mucho que tenia ganas de hacer este post en particular. Algunos de ustedes saben que empece Yôga, pero en realidad es más que eso. Empecé Metodo DeRose y acá les dejo el link asi chusmean de que se trata. La verdad es que me gusta mucho y me ha dado la oportunidad de conocer gente muy copada, empezando por mi instructor Pablo (foto abajo). Las fotos son de un Curso de Mantras que estuvo muy muy bueno, como pueden ver eramos un montón!!!

Hey... I have been meaning to make this post for sometime. I started practicing Metodo DeRose in February and it has been great. I have met great people from different backgrounds like my instructor Pablo (with me on next picture). The pictured were taken at a Mantra workshop, as you can see we were a few :)

La Coca en la Flor :P

Hello!!!

Ok, so one day I decided to go out for a walk as I usually do on the weekends. It was a nice day so I decided to walk all the way up to the flower. And then, when I get there I found it surrounded by Coca Sarli... It was part of a product ad campaign and I think that was what made it even more bizarre.

Hace ya un tiempo sali a caminar como cualquier domingo. Como estaba muy lindo decidi ir hasta la flor. Para mi sorpresa la encontre rodeada de Coca sarli como se puede ver en las fotos. Todo parte de una campaña de un competidor de Fernet Branca. Muy bizarro.

Primer Veranito en Agosto

Este ha sido un Agosto más que primaveral. Personalmente me gusta que en Invierno haga frio y es que estos "veranitos"lo único que hacen es disparar mi alergia o conseguirme un resfrio (como ahora). Hace dos semanas fue el primer veranito, actualmente estamos en el segundo. Como sea aqui unas fotos de hace dos semanas, cuando con las chicas fuimos a comer el sábado. A la banda se agregó Nancy y ya somos 5!!!!

Otra cosa, mi pelo por fin se ha decidido a crecer, aunque aún no decido yo que hacer con él. Creo que aguantaremos hasta Noviembre por lo menos y después veremos. Las fotos son de Palermo.

So this August has been really weird weather wise. I mean.. It's supposed to be winter, so to have days with 30C is just wrong... Besides I always end up with a cold caused by the AC or triggered by my allergies. Well, two weeks ago we had the first "summer" in winter (now we are having a full week).

Anyways... Pictures!!!!! Now we are 5 on our lunch excursions on Saturdays and it's just delightful. We are usually around Palermo. Check out my hair!!! is getting long, I keep wondering how much longer I'll we able to keep it like this :P

Picada con amigas

Catching up... On Saturdays I go to my Creative writing Workshop and the past months or so we have establish a tradition with the girls in the group and after the class is over we go out for lunch. It's really fun!!!!

This time we had picada, it was ok although I have had better ones. The last pic with kari, Loli and Analia :D

Ok, poniendome al día. Los sábados tengo el taller Literario y con las chicas nos estamos yendo a comer a Plaza Serrano al terminar. La pasamos de 10 y se ha convertido en una más que agradable tradición. Esta vuelta fue picada, no de las mejores que he probado pero en muy buena compania!!!!

Invierno en Buenos Aires

Hola!!!!

It has been a long time since last time I updated the blog. No excuses, just plain old laziness. i realize the other day that I did not have many pictures of winter in Buenos Aires, so I took my camera with me for a walk.

First my new super-cute hat :) I loooove hats and this one is a keeper. I lke this picture too because you can see my geekness in the background.

Hace tiempo que no subo nada al blog, más que nada me engancho con otras cosas y el tiempo pasa volando. La vuelta pasada me di cuenta que no tenia muchas fotos de Buenos Aires en invierno, asi que sali a caminar con la cámara. Pero antes una foto de mi nuevo y fabulósico sombrero!!!!!!

Y acá invierno en Buenos Aires. La verdad es que tiene su encanto, más ahora que los días ya se estan alargando. la foto del medio es el recurso para sacarme fotos de cuerpo entero jejeje.

So here the pictures. Buenos Aires is really nice in winter, not too cold and now we have more daylight so it's great to walk around. So there, enjoy the pictures :)
