Ok, I'll try to explain this in english now. So I made two bets on the same race. I bet on a horse called Allan Poe (I had to bet on him after reading his name) and then I also place a bet on the favorite. Allan Poe ended second to last but the other one won so I had a small (nano) profit afterwards :)

If you click on the pic to look at it on a bigger screen you can see the horses.

This was the best pic with the horses... la mejor foto que me quedo con caballos.

Hipódromo I

Monday 24th it we found out that there were horse racing at the Hipódromo de Palermo. I had always look at the building and racetrack from outside so it was a nice opportunity to see the place from the inside.

La entrada. The entrance.
The park inside the racetrack. El parque dentro de la pista.

The screen so you can see the horses before you can see then with your bare eye (many people had binoculars) .

Dad. Papá. The best part, there is no fee to go in (unless you want to go to the official section) so it was frugal fun!

And now a few pics to show that we were actually there :) We did not stay for the events since it was way too crowded (it was actually a good idea because a few hours later it started raining as crazy). Anyways it was really interesting.

El Cabildo

We walked down the Avenida de Mayo towards the Plaza de Mayo and the Cabildo which was the place where the actual May revolution occured. The Cabildo was looking really nice so I got carried away and took many pics. Here a sample.

So while we were walking away from the Bicentennial Walk toward the Avenida de Mayo we saw some really nice buildings. The best part was that some have had just been painted/ renovated. So just a few pictures of the buildings.

A few pics of the Bicentennial Walk. May 25th was the 200 anniversary of the first "non-spanish" government. Thanks to wikipedia you can see what it was about, the article is not completely unbiased, but it gives the main idea :) Go here. The place was full all the time, the Walk was about 15 blocks along the 9 de Julio (the widest avenue in Buenos Aires and some argue the world) and there were stands for each province and other stuff like concerts and parades. We went early with Dad, before the stands were even opened and there were people in line to get in already. So we basically walk around for a bit and then get away before it got too crowded.

El Paseo. The Walk.

Los stands de las provincias. Provinces' stands.

My Dad and his "I was there pic" Papá y su foto conmemorativa.

My own I was there pic.

I think I have said it before, but the thing I like the most about not being a student anymore is that I have my weekends for myself :) Even when I was an undergrad I would study during weekends (4 or 6 hs a day) and I better not get started on weekends when you are in Grad School. Anyways, now the weekends are MINE and I do not get tired of them. I usually have activities and I get together with friends.

So last weekend I got together with the girls from the creative writing workshop as usual, it is my favorites activity on Saturday :) The pic is with Loli and was taken by Analia. After lunch with the gals I meet Santiago and Maria Elena for a walk and dinner.

With Maria Elena.
With Santiago.

Then on Sunday I went to one of my favorite places, a tea/bakery/deli shop called Baraka. I had a nice tea there with Paulina, although no pics there. And Sunday's mornings I go to Método DeRose classes outdoors :) I do love my weekends!!!
