First weekend

Hello !!!!!!

It has been a couple of crazy days... I went to La Plata for the weekend to Tato's Birthday :) You can see him indulging his inner child with my present... yet other thing I bought at OTAKON. The Veritech Fighter-1 (Miriya's) is so so cool!!!!! It transform to the three modes too!!! And yes, I'm a Robotech fan and so is Tato.


Hola!!!!!

El fin de semana me fui a La Plata al cunpleaños de Tato :) Lo pueden ver jugando con mi regalito... El Veritech de Robotech, más precisamente el de Miriya. Y si, se que muchos de ustedes ya estan poniendo caras, pero saben que los dos hemos sidos fanas por un tiempo de la serie y no digan que el chiche no se ve buenisimo!!!!!!

Hello!!!!

No pictures yet... mainly because I got here and I have been trying to catch up with some sleep... As usual I was able to sleep only 1 hour on my flight. Bussiness Class is SO nice!!!! They give you real glasses and whole bottles of water and free booze (although I did not drink any..) and the food is so much better too!!!!! I watch Inside Man, pretty good movie. Anyways, I'm here now, trying to get back to normal...

Aun no hay fotos... más que nada porque me dormi ua siesta de 4 horas para recuperar el sueño perdido. Como siempre solo pude dormir una hora en el avion. la clase Ejecutiva es lo más!!!! Te dan vasos de verdad, y botellas de agua enteras y alcohol gratis, aunque yo no tome nada. La comida tambien esta más buena. Mire la peli Inside Man (ni idea como se llama en castellano) estuvo buena. Ok, ahora intentando volver a la normalidad.

So here I am... I couldn't take it anymore without Internet!!!! So I decided to pay a little and get online to say hi from Miami... My flight starts boarding in 20 minutes :) I'm so tired!!!! Could someone let me know how did the asado went???

Aca estoy en Miami, no me aguante más sin Internet asi que decidi pagar un poco pero ponerme online :). Mi vuelo empieza a abordar en 20 minutos y la verdad es que estoy super cansada. Martin ;) Manda las fotos!!!!! Como salio el asado???

Annapolis

Hello again...

Procastination... I'm getting good at it :) As you can see the closer the departure date the closer the blog entries. Yesterday we went to Annapolis, which is Maryland capitol city. It has a cute bay area and downtown. And a really good gelato ;) Here Martin, Jason and Christina (my rommies).

Realmente estoy mejorando mi capacidad de perder el tiempo... Como pueden ver cuanto más se acerca la fecha de partida más entradas al blog jejeje. Ayer fuimos a Annapolis, es la capital de Maryland. Tiene un area con botes y negocios muy linda, hay mucha plata ahi. Y pude comer un helado de los buenos :) En la foto Martin, Jason y Christina, mis compas de casa.

Hey...

Yesterday I sold my car... My first and only car :( It will be missed. Today I rented a car, I ask for the economy but since they did not have more left I got an upgrade, so now I'm driving this huge car (like a boat). It looks cool (I'll post pics later) but I miss my little Neon.

Ayer vendi mi auto... Mi primer autito, lo voy a extrañar. Hoy alquile un auto, tenia reservado un "compacto" (auto mediano para nosotros en Argentina) pero ya no le quedaban asi que me dieron un bote con todos los lujos :S Despues vamos a sacar fotos con Martin, se ve como demasiado y me hace extrañar mi Neon...

Fortune cookie :S

Hi all...

today we had chinese food at lab meeting and always we goy fortune cookies... We can all agree that these "fortunes" tend to be generic, but this one just make me laugh, "you are the guiding star of his existence"... Whose existence??? I guess the funnier moment was when we were all trying to figure that one out... Frank suggested that I have a stalker I'm not aware off :) I'm open to suggestions ;)


Hoy en la reunion del grupo comimos comida china y como siempre al final cada uno agarro una galletita de la fortuna... Los mensajitos en estas galletitas son siempre muy genericos y cripticos, onda lo que te dice una mujer cuando te lee las cartas o el horoscopo... Pero esta vuelta se paso!!!! mi fortuna dice algo como "Tu eres la estrella que guia su (en masculino) existencia" :D No pude contener largar la carcajada dps de leer esto... la existencia de quien??? Ideas??? Lo mejor fue cuando empezamos a huevear a ver quien podia ser, Frank dice que tengo un admirador secreto (en realidad stalker, que tiene una connotación más obsesiva y siniestra...). De todos modos me parecio que merecia una entrada en el blog...

So today they came to pick up my boxes, it feels weird to know that all my stuff is now on its way and away from me. I guess I'm too attached to my books and pictures, but that's what has always make me feel home. I just hope everything gets back without a problem. Two weeks and counting now... So much stuff to get done!!!!

Hoy vienieron a llevarse mis cajas, se siente raro tener todas mis cosas en camino y lejos de mi. Supongo que me aferro mucho a mis libros y fotos, pero es lo que siempre me hace sentir en casa. Espero que todo llegue en orden. En dos semanas viajo!!!!! Mil cosas por hacer aun...

Megatokyo and Little Gamers

Hello!!!!

Another good thing about Otakon is that you get to meet some of your favorites artist, in this case webcomics :) Here's a picture with Fred (Piro) from Megatokyo. Megatokyo is an American manga, really good.. The art and story are great!!!!! And now I have my vol. 4 signed :)

Otra de las cosas buenas acerca de Otakon es que uno puede conocer algunos autores, en este caso de webcomics. Aca estoy con Fred (Piro) de Megatokyo. Megatokyo es un manga yanqui, la historia y arte son realmente excelentes y ahora tengo mi vol. 4 autografiado!!!! El comic se ve online y tambien se imprime en tomos recopilatorios...



The other webcomic I follow is Little Gamers by Madsen and Christian, two really cool sweden guys... I ended up buying their two books, after all I have been laughing at their comics for 4 years now, so I thought it was a good cause... Besides I got their signature!!!! I try to stop by later and talk to them but I could not find them after their panel :(

El otro webcomic que sigo es LIttle Gamers de Madsen y Christian, dos suecos muy copados... Termine comprando sus dos libros ya que a fin de cuentas sigo el comic hace cuatro años y me parecio que se lo merecian :) Además ahora los tengo firmados!!!!! Lamentablemente intente verlos de vuelta pero desaparecieron el ultimo dia :(

Hey... I know that all these entries just show how obsessive I am about my hobby ;) But I really like to share this experience and I know my bro is for sure happy I'm doing it. OTAKON is an excellent place to expend way too much money... You can find there everything!!!! So here some of my adquisitions...

Ya se que tal vez estoy un poco pesada con todas estas entradas acerca de OTAKOn, pero la verdad es que fue una experiencia tan divertida que quiero compartirla, además que Andrés seguro que esta disfrutando esto :). OTAKON es un muy buen lugar para gastar dinero :S, hay tantas cosas!!!!! Acá algunas de las cosas que compre :)

Nana Kitade

Yo de nuevo... esta es Nana, la verdad es que ni idea quien era, pero ya que estaba compre el CD para que me lo autografiara y resulto ser muy bueno :)

So this is Nana, I had never heard of her before, but I took a chance and bought her CD... it turned out to be really good!!!!


Here we are at the bar where the concert took place... We stayed kinda away of all the people since we were able to get seats there (I'm to old for this stuff).

Aca estamos en el bar donde fue el concierto, por suerte conseguimos asientos aunque un poco alejados de la banda... Pero igual estuvo bien, la verdad es que no tenia ganas de meterme en el pogo ;)

My first Ramune

Hello again...

I'm realizing that all OTAKON entries will have some obscure references for all you mortals ;) So here a useful link so you know what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramune I first saw a Ramune in RahXephon, it is a regular soda but it has a marble inside... It's pretty cool, here is the picture sequence of my first Ramune experience :)

Me estoy dando cuenta que muchas de las referencias en las entradas referidas a OTAKOn son bastante oscuras para uds. pobres mortales ;) Asi que aca mando un link, aunque lamentablemente esta en inglés, pero tiene un par de fotos ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramune . la primera vez que vi una botellita de Ramune fue en el anime RahXephon, es basicamente una bebida tipo Ser pero la botellita tiene una bolita de vidrio adentro... Aca va la sequencia de mi pimera experiencia con Ramune :D

I survived OTAKON 2006

Hello All :)

So one of the reasons why I got a 26% dorkness on that webtest was because of this... I'm an Anime and Manga fan and I'm proud of it!!!!! So past weekend was OTAKON 2006 here in Baltimore, a really awesome experience!!!!!! It is amazing how much time you spend in line to get somewhere... This pic is at the line to get to the AMV (Anime Music Videos). I'm with Tim, a fellow anime and manga fan himself :) Thank you Tim for put up with me the whole weekend!!!! ;)


Una de las razones por las cuales me saque un 26% Dork en el test que hice hace unos meses es que me gusta el Manga y Anime... Y no tengo problema en admitirlo (como muchos de uds. saben). El finde que paso fue OTAKON 2006, una convencion de Anime y Manga aca en Baltimore, una de las más grandes en USA. En la foto estoy con Tim, un amigo que fue mi guia en esto de convenciones (él ha ido a un par), la pasamos muy bien... Ahi estamos en la cola para entrar al AMV, videos hechos por fans con musica... Hubo algunos MUY buenos... Pero no voy a entrar en detalles porque los voy a perder en el camino ;)

La foto siguiente es en el segundo día, fuimos supertemprano para poder conseguir tickets para el concierto de Nana Kitade y MUCC. El concierto estuvo buenisimo!!!!! Nana Kitade es J-pop calico mientras MUCC es una banda de hard-rock/punk japonesa :)


So this is me again in line to get tickets to the Nana Kitade and MUCC concert. The concert was awesome, Nana is really good J-pop while MUCC was hard rock/punk... Really good stuff!!!! We had to get to the convention really early to get the tickets... so by 8pm that day we were already destroyed... My feet are still hurting!!!!

I didn't take too many pictures of people cosplaying... except for this one... Here is Shesshomaru in his dog-youki form :) I thought it was great!!!!! Besides he's one of my fav. characters. It's amazing some of the costumes you see, there're so good!!!! Of course you also have the occasional overweight teen using spandex :( Overall I felt SO normal there ;)


Al final no saque muchas fotos de gente disfrazada... Pero este me encanto, es Sesshomaru (de la serie Inuyasha) convertido en su forma real... Es uno de mis personajes favoritos... La verdad es que la cantidad de gente disfrazada es increile, algunos disfraces son super elaborados y muy buenos, aunque tambien a veces te encontras con alguien que tiene unos cuantos kg. de más como para estas usando minis o lycra :S

So here's a picture of my boxes... Amazingly is not that much, I guess i've been good at not accumulating to much junk. Anyways it seems weird to have all your last 5 years in just 10 boxes.



Aca la foto de mis cajas... Pense que iban a ser más, pero al final pude meter todo (sacando la ropa que necesito aqui y en Bs As) en solo 10 cajas... incluyendo la compu!!!! parece mentira que en 5 años solo acumule estas cajas. ;)
