Halloween (part 1)

Hello All,

So like the past three years I went to the Halloween party in Baltimore. This time was at Frank and Kristen's new place :) I stayed at their place and I have and awesome time... Next time it's the Turkey Party!!!!! Here a pic with my costume... This time I actually dressed up a bit.

Como en los ultimos tres años tuve la Fiesta de Halloween en Baltimore. Esta vuelta fue en la casa de Frank y Kristen, yo me quede ahi el finde y la pase de 10 :) Los chicos son los perfectos anfitriones... la proxima vuelta es la Fiesta del Pavo ;) Aca la foto con mi disfraz :)

Heroes ans simulations

Hello all...

Just a quick post while the simulation (at least one) is done ;) I have not much to say actually, I have been working, watching TV, went to the Gym once (!!!)... And I got completely hooked into Heros, a new show on NBC. It is SO good, although you have to be a geek to REALLY enjoy it :) but really cool stuff.

Besides this I have been procastinating regarding the last paper I got accepted, I have to force myself to wpork on that again. And of course try to get my phD research back in track again. The good news... I'm going back January 12th!!!!!!

Un post rapidito mientras espero que terminen unas simulaciones... La verdad es que no tengo muchas novedades, me la paso del trabajo al hotel, en donde miro tele y webeo, aunque ayer finalmente fui al Gym!!!! jejeje. Hay una serie nueva aca, se llama Heroes y esta buenisima!!!! Tiene muchos chistes internos para geeks como uno ;) Me encanto!!!!! Lo bueno es que los capitulos estan online, asi que voy a poder seguirla cuando vaya a Argentina.... A proposito, ya esta confirmado que para el 12 de Enero estoy de vuelta!!!!!!!! Aun me queda cambiar el pasaje, pero eso lo hare mas adelante (no tengo acentos en esta maquina). En fin... sigo aun dando vueltas con el ultimo trabajo que me aceptaron para publicar y aun no he tocado nada del phD...

The Prestige

Hola!!!! Hello!!!!

So today I went to the movies to see The Prestige, with the absolute fabulous and perfect Hugh Jackman ;) It's a really good movie, I really liked it. I went with Jon, one of the guys I'm working with... He's super nice although I think I scared him with my geekness :D

Hoy fui al cine a ver The Prestige (ni idea como la van a traducir en Argentina), con el bombonazo de Hugh Jackman... La peli esta muy buena y la recomiendo ;) Fui con uno de los pibes de la oficina, se llama Jon y es muy buena onda, aunque creo que lo asuste con mi geekness jejeje. Tengo que dejar de hablar sobre manga, anime, etc etc...

First day at work

Hello All...

So today was my first day at work here in Manchester. Everyone is super nice so far and I was able to finish almost all the "paperwork" today... I would have wanted to be more productive but I have an awful cold :( I spend most day sneezing and feeling like hell. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Hoy fue mi primer dia en el trabajo en Manchester. Todos han sido super macanudos y voy a estar trabajando con otras tres personas en un chip que esta más que interesante. Hoy casi que termine con todas las cuestiones logisticas excepto por el mail. Me hubiera gustado ser más productiva, pero tengo un resfrio de la ostia :( Supongo que el cambio al invierno más el viajecito en avion surtieron efecto. Espero sentirme mejor mañana :)

Fall season it's just beautiful here... The colors are just unbelievable and I got here just in time to get a glimpse of them.

El otoño es hermoso, colores increibles. Por suerte llegue justo a tiempo ya que los colores cambian rapido.




 

The Merrimack River

Hi All!!!!

This is the Merrimack River, it crosses Manchester, actually this is in downtown. As you can see it's cold here, specially when the wind blows...

Este es el rio Merrimack, cruza la ciudad de Manchester cerca del centro. Como pueden ver esta bastante fresco por aca, sobre todo cuando slopa el viento y se esconde el sol.



This is Vipul, a friend from ISU who's working around this area. It's nice to have a friend to go around with.

Este es Vipul, es un amigo de Iowa, esta haciendo una pasantia por estos lados. Es bueno tener un amigo por aca para salir y huevear un poco. Ok... aun quedan muchas fotos!!!!

 

My car

Again... This is my car here. A rental of course ;) It's nice to have a car again, although I'm still trying to get used to it. I kinda miss my bus ride.

Este es el auto que me dio la compania, es un Pontiac G6. Esta bueno tener auto, pero aun estoy acostumbrandome a el. Igual creo que extraño el bondi ;)

Hi All... Hola!!!!

So a few pictures of my "home" for the next 3 or 4 months... This is my king size bed, I'm still trying to get used to the pillows...

El living room... It's separated from the room and bathroom. Esta separado del baño y la pieza. So here you have it. It's a nice hotel and I have internet, so what else could I ask for??? ;)


Aca estan... El hotel esta relindo y aparte tengo internet gratis, asi que no necesito mucho más, no??? :D

Hello All!!!!!

Tomorrow I'm going back... And let me tell you that this have been a freaking crazy week. Last wednesday I had my embassy appointment and after that I had to arrange my tickets, health insurance, hotel, etc etc... AND on top of all that today I FINALLY was able to get my boxes from Customs and ship them to my mom's.

The boxes arrived more or less in good shape :S I guess my mom will have lots of fun trying to figure out were to place them hehehe.

Mañana ya salgo de vuelta, la verdad es que esta semana ha sido de locura, organizando todas las huevadas :S Bastante podrida... Encima de todo recien hoy pude sacar las cajas de la Aduana, asi que con suerte estan llegando a Bahia el viernes... Mamá se va a entretener viendo donde catso ponerlas.

Algunas fotos del finde pasado. Fue el cumple de Sebas y nos juntamos a comer unas burgers y disfrutar de la primavera... Voya a extrañar la primavera!!!!! En la primera foto Tato, Ale y Valeria, en la que sigue la GENIA Bea ;)

Going back to the States

Hello!!!!!

Finally I have my Visa, my ticket, my hotel in Manchester, my health insurance... These past days have been crazy trying to organize this trip... I'm leaving to the USA Thursday 12th, I'm flying straigth to New york and from there to Boston. So I'll be arriving Friday 13th :) Anyways, I'll not know for how long will stay until I pass Migrations, my ticket back is for 4 months and to tell you the truth I hope it is only that... I want to get at least a taste of the summer!!!!!!

There's not much else going on. Work is awesome :) I got another journal paper accepted although I have to make a hell lot of changes... And I hope to start working on my "research"in Manchester, for sure I'll be bored there.

I'll try to post more often... BTW, I'm still waiting for my boxes, hopefully I'll pick them up next Tuesday :D

Hola!!!!!!

Finalmente tengo la visa, el pasaje, el seguro medico, el hotel, etc etc... estos ultimos dias han sido de locura, bastante trabajo y todos los preparativos del viaje. Salgo el jueves 12 y llego a Boston el viernes a la mañana. Aun no se cuanto tiempo me voy a quedar, espero que sea solo por 4 meses y es que me gustaria ver un poco del verano al menos.

Aparte de esto no hay mucho que contar, el trabajo buenisimo y me aceptaron un trabajo en una revista aunque tengo que modificarlo bastante... La verdad es que me da fiaca, pero espero tener más tiempo cuando llegue a Manchester.

En tanto mis cajas siguen en la aduana, ahora me dicen que el martes voy a poder sacarlas... Como siempre todo a las corridas. La historia de mi vida :)
